Description
This is the first Capitol building in the United States (located in Williamsburg, Virginia) was established in 1705 as a meeting place for House of the Burgesses of the Colony of Virginia. It is a National Historic Landmark that served as a meeting place until 1779. I found it's unique "H" shape interesting. On the clock tower in the middle, the Colonial Williamsburg flag flies. It is in this building that the first cries for Independence (from England) were heard and and eventually lead to the Declaration of Independence in 1776. The man in the red cape out front stands ready in period costume to provide you with information and a tour.
